Scott K. Skidmore is a native of Stanly County, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1989 and later graduated from the Samford University, Cumberland School of Law in 1992. In 1992, he was admitted into the practice of law in the State of North Carolina and United States Middle District of North Carolina and later that year joined the firm as an associate. He became partner in the firm of Farver, Skidmore & McDonough, LLP in 2001.

For over 30 years, Scott has practiced primarily Criminal Law, handling felonies, misdemeanors and traffic matters in District and Superior Court. He is an experienced criminal trial attorney, having handled hundreds of cases, including numerous first-degree murder charges. Scott also handles real estate matters for the firm including handling loan closings, title searches and preparation of deeds.

Scott is a member of the Rockingham County Bar Association, where he has served as President, the North Carolina Bar Association, where he is a member of the Criminal Defense section, and past member of North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Scott is an active member of the community. He has served on the Board of the Reidsville Housing Authority, Reidsville Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and is a member and past president of the Reidsville Jaycees. Scott and his wife Carmen have two children, Tyler and Samantha and one grandson, Matthew.
