After earning his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2004 and becoming a licensed attorney the following year, Mark C. Keeney has proudly served clients throughout Rockingham County, North Carolina, for nearly two decades.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Mark has served as Assistant District Attorney in Rockingham County on three separate occasions, most recently as Chief ADA for more than three years. He has worked alongside, or under the leadership of, the last five Rockingham County District Attorneys. In addition to his prosecutorial work, he has held a variety of other legal and public service roles.

Mark’s extensive legal background spans both criminal and civil law, with experience in prosecuting and defending criminal cases, handling family law matters, contract disputes, and a broad range of civil litigation. In 2019, he joined Help, Inc. (Rockingham County’s Square One Family Justice Center) as their staff attorney, representing clients in sensitive and critical matters including domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

In his free time, Mark enjoys jogging, lifting weights, swimming, and spending time with his two dogs and one cat.
